Hugenot Cemetary

I'm very fond of the Hugenot Cemetary, located close to St. Stephen's Green. You can't actually get inside the cemetary, but I was able to take this picture through the bars of the cemetary fence. I only had a very short time as I was rushing to get to an appointment, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity as the light was pretty good. I was inspired to write a poem a couple of years ago after seeing the cemetary on a late Spring evening with the bluebells in full bloom, so I'm pleased to have a photograph from approximately the same time of year.

Bluebells

I love bluebells. I think it's a combination of the colour, shape and the fact that they remind me of my childhood - and being born in April, when they begin to flower, might be part of it. This picture was taken in the Iveagh Gardens (or the secret garden as Martin and I call it) in Dublin.

Sinister Martin

I really like this picture of Martin because there is a brooding quality to the photograph. For those trying to make out the words on his Pac-Man t-shirt, it says "Eat Me". This was snapped in the Iveagh Gardens.

Greek Flasher

There are two broken pieces of sculpture along a path in the Iveagh Gardens, and I really liked how the Greek boys looked against the verdent background. Here's one of them, with strategically-placed foliage.

St. Michael

There are two large fountains in the Iveagh Gardens, unfortunately they were not working when we visited. Both of them are angels, and I'm guessing this is St. Micheal (or perhaps St. George) because he's trying to keep his foot on top of that Dragon's head. I don't believe he is giving everyone the finger, but more a kind of "come hither, so I might crush thy head also" gesture.
